Storage Insect Pest Laboratory

The research seeks out control or quarantine measures against storage insect pests in rice packages on store shelves, occurrence of insect pests after long storage of public grain stock, and quarantine issues associated with importing grains. The research themes include: 1) the establishment of phytosanitary monitoring techniques for the importing grains; 2) the development of control measures for rice packages; and 3) the development of non-chemical control measures such as light illumination and physical materials for storage insect pests. All of these efforts are to secure food safety for the consumers.
