Plant pathology Laboratory

The research of the plant pathology laboratory includes the ecological research on tropical horticultural crop diseases, development of rapid diagnosis and identification technology and various control technologies, crop disease diagnosis services and control consultation, etc. In terms of control technology, in addition to evaluating the control effect of chemical pesticides on tropical horticultural crop diseases, microbial materials and inducing disease-resistant substances are used as tools to prevent disease occurrence, chemical pesticides are used in a rational manner, and non-pesticide control materials are introduced to reduce the impact of diseases. Entomology Laboratory

The ecological research and development of various control technologies of tropical horticultural crop pest, pest diagnosis and identification services and control consulting are the main tasks of the entomology laboratory. Understanding the ecology of pest occurrence is important for establishing integrated pest management (IPM). In addition to timely and appropriate use of chemical pesticides, IPM also establishes a safe production model and introduces non-pesticide control materials to reduce the damage of pests to crops and improve the safety of agricultural products.

Horticultural Processing Laboratory

The horticultural processing laboratory takes the processing of Taiwan's agronomic and horticultural crops as its main responsibility. The agricultural products are processed according to different market demands. We develop minimally processing technology to make dried fruits and fruit leathers. Furthermore, we conduct moderate processing, such as lactic acid fermentation and soybean koji fermentation. The deep processing technology are also built up to develop health care and aesthetic medical materials. We are dedicated to extending the industrial value of crops.
