Abstract:

In Taiwan, implementing newly-developed agricultural machinery performance testing has been over 40 years. However, there is quite limited literature analysis on the types and quantity of subsidized machines. This research classified the agricultural machineries according to the operational purposes, analyzing the types of and the quantity of the newly-developed agricultural machineries included in annual subsidy programs and comparing trend differences between the year included in the subsidy program and performance test for 20 years. The results showed that the type number of agricultural machineries included in annual subsidy programs was 426 from 1993 to 2008, during this period, with the percentage of new (first) application applied and the type included in programs was 28.9% and the rest of the types being extensionally included in annual programs. During this period, the type of machinery with maximum percentage was that of agricultural machineries for crop management. The maximum number of subsidy types was 46 in 2001. As for the time difference between the year of including in the annual subsidy program and the performance test, the results showed that machineries newly included in annual programs in two years was 91.9%. If the data combined with extensionally part, the time difference in five years was 95.2%.
