Application of 2D Profile CFD Analysis on the Design of Greenhouse

Abstract

    This study analyze the internal flow properties of four-span Venlo-type greenhouse under 0.5 m/s wind blow with the 2D profile computational fluid dynamics technique, where the end effect of greenhouse is neglected. On the condition of empty greenhouse, the effects of different top and side windows configuration on internal flow are analyzed, and the best setup for enhanced internal air exchange is found. Only the first top-window facing wind blow can take air indoor under the current design. Besides, the properly-situated baffle plates can eliminate the Coanda effect, and guide air flow deeper.
