Taxonomic Revision of the Genus Sinocrepis Chen, 1933(Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae: Galerucinae: Alticitae)

Abstract:

The species-group names of the genus Sinocrepis Chen, 1933, were re-evaluated. Sinocrepis micans Chen, 1933, as a junior synonym of S. obscurofasciata is supported by examining types and genital characters from a large number of specimens. In addition, S. nigripennis, Chen 1936, and S. fulva Kimoto, 1996 are herein synonymized with S. obscurofasciata. A new species, S. kimotoi, sp. nov. is described based on two specimens from Thailand that were misidentified as S. obscurofasciata. New data on the biology of S. obscurofasciata are provided.
