Abstract:

    Leafy sweet potato line, CYY82-L17, was derivated from sweet potato random mating population descent seedling, through primary and advanced yield trial, regional trial, disease and insect observation, fertilization trial, density trial. Tainung 71 was formally designated by Taiwan Provincial Department of Agriclture and Forestry on May 6, 1998, and with characterisics of moderate vines, semi-compact plant type, deep green color stem, no downy hair, light green immature leaf, deep green mature leaf, nose shape leaf, deep green petiol. Tainung 71 was superiors in semi-compact plant type, and suitable for mechanical harvesting; 2. top part grows rapidly, and can be harvested about 7-10 days in summer crop; 3. tender tip shoot, and eating quality is excellent; 4. can grows more than two years, and have constant tip shoot yield during all growth period; and leaf contains a lot of vitamin A, C and folic acid.
