Abstract:
proving seed germination of ‘Kyoho’ grape was conducted by a serious of treatments including stratification, gibberellic acid, leaching and scarification. Germination of seeds required a proper stratification period at 5℃. The maximum seed germination percentage of ‘Kyoho’ grape was performed by stratification for 16 weeks at 5℃. Before stratification, soaked seeds in running water for 3 days could enhance germination percentage. Scarification did not cause obvious effect on improving seed germination. Effect of GA3 treatment on seed germination was more effective on increasing the seed germination percentage and decreasing the average day of germination by higher concentration, but over dosage of GA3 treatments induced slender growth of hypocotyl and internode resulting in exceedingly tall seedling.
