The argonomic traits of 5 promision clones of sweet potato

Abstract:

    The sweet potato clone, CYY86-01, was selected from the progenies of a polycross population through primary and advanced yield trials, regional trials, planting time and fertilization trials. It was formally designated as Tainung 72 (TNG 72) by Council of Agriculture, Executive Yuan on March 21, 2003. The mean storage root yield of TNG 72 was 11.2% higher than the check variety, TNG57, in regional trial, and contained higher reducing sugar, carotenoid, vitamin c, calcium and phosphorus contents than the check variety, TNG57. When Tainung 72 is cultivated with appropriate planting density, fertilization, and harvesting time, the yield of middle size tubers were two-fold of TNG57 variety. Therefore, Tainung 72 can not only be used as table-use, but also is a good material for baking.
