The lab is employing tissue culture techniques for in vitro mass multiplication of Phalaenopsis and Oriental Cymbidium which are difficult to propagate through conventional means; creation of inter-specific and inter-generic hybrids of Phalaenopsis through embryo rescuing to overcome fertilization barrier and create diversity in Phalaenopsis; and production of secondary metabolites.
